Stompin'Tom

By Stew Kernan

Stompin’ Tom Connors will always be linked to Sudbury, so it only seemed fitting to recognize that bond.

A life-sized bronze sculpture of the man that penned the song “Sudbury Saturday Night” at the Town House 50 years ago, was unveiled in front of the Sudbury Arena this morning.

Sudbury Saturday Night was one of Stompin’ Tom’s best known songs and was written when Connors played at the Towne House back in 1965.

Stompin’ Tom Connors sold almost 4-million albums and was an Officer of the Order of Canada.
