The March of Dimes Canada is short on its goal for its first crowd-funding campaign in Sudbury, set to wrap up Sunday (Nov 15).

The agency had hoped to raise $10,000 towards equipment for Wade Hampton House on Bancroft Drive, which provides housing for residents with acquired brain injuries.

Campaign Manager Susan Levesque says that would include accessible equipment like lifts, ramps or accessible showers.

She says this crowd-funding initiative is just one of many fundraising initiatives MOD has planned for the near future.

The overall goal is to raise $1-million dollars.

Levesque says the larger campaign called “Moving A-Head”, focuses on funding to help build a second facility adjacent to the current accomodations in Minnow Lake.

She says there are currently 25 people are on the wait list for accomodations.

Wade Hampton House currently has eleven individuals who live there, and they’re from all across Northeastern Ontario.
