Passport

Traveling alone can be a great experience, but it also can be scary, particularly for women.

Cambrian College grad, C-A-A Travel Consultant, Julie Poulin was at the school today to hold a workshop, offering tips and advice for anyone thinking about taking a trip by themselves.

She doesn’t want to scare anyone or prevent them from making friends, but does say to never ‘advertise’ that you’re traveling alone.

She suggests being wary of strangers, and never tell them you’re on your own.

She tells people to be prepared, by learning about the culture and layout of the community you’re exploring before you visit.

Poulin is a graduate of Cambrian’s Tourism & Travel Program, and says she frequently travels alone.
