It looks like hunters get it when it comes to obeying the law.

Ministry of Natural Resources Conservation Officers checked 3200 moose hunters in the northeast during an enforcement blitz last month and laid just 109 charges.

They were for failing to wear hunter orange, carrying loaded firearms in vehicles or vessels and and liquor related violations.

Officers were checking to see if hunting regulations were being observed with special attention paid to safety.
