Adam Levine and the boys of Maroon 5 are back with a brand new single called ‘What Lovers Do’, and they’ve teamed up with one of the hottest singers in the game right now, SZA!

‘What Lovers Do’ is the first single from Maroon 5’s upcoming album that hasn’t been named just yet, nor has it been given a release date.

We do have an idea what the music video will look like though, as Adam Levine shared this video of himself in a hospital bed with SZA dressed up as a nurse…

The band announced the release of the single just moments after Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards concluded…

Previously, Maroon 5 collaborated with Kendrick Lamar on the single, ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ and Future on ‘Cold’.

If you are unfamiliar with SZA, let me tell you a little bit about her.

SZA was born Solána Imani Rowe and is from New Jersey and wrote Rihanna’s song, ‘Consideration’ and even performed it with her at the BRIT Awards.

Back in June, she released her debut studio album, CTRL which critics and fans alike LOVED.

CTRL features collaborations with Kendrick Lamar (‘Doves in the Wind’) and Travis Scott (‘Love Galore’).

In an interview with NME she talked about working on her next album (her second) and why she thinks it could be her last, “I need to grow and learn. I feel like music is something that is an amazing medium for me but I don’t know if I can really apply my purpose in the world quick enough, because I get lost. Four years went by and I didn’t even realise it until someone said, ‘Trayvon Martin died five years ago’. I remember I was in the studio writing for Beyoncé at the time, not focusing on what was going on.”

I personally hope we continue to get music from SZA (‘The Weekend’ is my favourite song from her album, check it out below).
