Nickel Belt’s M-P-P continues to pressure the government on when PET Scan technology will be available to the residents of the Northeast.

Positron emission tomography scans, are used in cancer and heart ailment diagnosis and a drive has been underway to get this service made available locally.

France Gelinas says it’s been six years and she wants an answer from the Health Minister before the winter weather really settles in and people have to risk their lives to travel out of town to get the treatment they need.

Gelinas says over 30,000 people have signed a petition asking that a PET Scan be approved for Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
