Making a good first impression is crucial during a job interview.

That’s why last March Cambrian College created a Professional Clothing Depot on its Barrydowne Campus, to offer students a few outfits they can wear to job interviews or placements.

Student Intern at the Women’s Resource Centre, Stephanie Giroux, says they’re looking for donations from the community of either professional attire or trades clothes, for both men and women.

Right now they’re in need of men’s and women’s work boots, scrubs and safety apparel.

They have lots of professional business suits and dress clothes.

Giroux says it’s a free service and once each student chooses their outfit they get to keep that clothing.

She says college students don’t always have the financial means to buy a new wardrobe before an interview or start of placement.

This depot gives them the boost they need to feel confident on a job interview or on their first day of placement.

Any donations should be dropped off to Women’s Resource Centre (Room 2431) or the Students’ Administrative Council office (Room 1164) on the Barrydowne campus.
