69 4-Landing

By Stew Kernan

The 4-laning of Highway 69 has taken another step forward.

Sudbury M-P-P Glenn Thibeault announced this morning $173.4-million towards work on 14 kilometers from just north of Highway 607 to just north of Highway 522.

That will include two new interchanges, ten new bridges, including four major structures over the Pickerel and French Rivers.

Mayor Brian Bigger says every kilometre 4-laned is good news for the city.

This expansion will be complete in 2020 and keeps the project on target for complete 4-landing from Sudbury to Parry Sound by 2021.

Eric Doidge the Regional Director for the Ministry of Transportation says they continue to work closely with the Shawanaga, Magnetawan and Henvy Inlet First Nations.
