The entire Qarquos family is now back together and building their new life in Sudbury.

The Syrian refugee family, who arrived on New Year’s Eve, was at the airport yesterday to finally welcome the elder Mr Qarquos to his new home.

The 80-year old Mohammed Qarquos, grandfather to the children, was originally prevented from traveling to Canada from Lebanon due to passport problems.

Then he was sick and unable to travel.

His family, along with local media were at the Greater Sudbury Airport yesterday afternoon to greet him when he got off the plane from Toronto.

The entire family is being sponsored over the next year by St Andrew’s United Church in Sudbury.
