Healthy Kids

The challenge is on to get our kids more active and healthy.

Greater Sudbury is one of 45 communities in Ontario taking part in the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.

A recent study revealed that 42% of kids in Greater Sudbury over the age of 12 are considered in-active.

Local Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Penny Sutcliffe says there will need to be a “social change” to get those numbers down.

The Healthy Kids Community Challenge was launched this afternoon at Tom Davies Square and the local Project Manager Kate Barber announced three of nine new initiatives to be introduced including the free Family Snow Day on February 6th.
