The Canadian Mental Health Association will officially open their low barrier emergency shelter today.

The Off The Street Emergency Shelter at 200 Larch Street will provide 30 cots to give the vunerable a warm, safe place to sleep.

The local Red Cross is donating more than 300 towels, 80 pillow cases, 250 pillows, 1,700 toothbrushes and 2,000 bars of soap for the year.

The shelter will be available until April 15th, 2017, with doors open at 8 pm.
