Local high school teachers could go out on strike in two weeks if new collective agreements aren’t reached.

Both the Teacher and Occasional Teacher Units are in a legal strike position as of April 27th.

OSSTF District 3 President James Clyke says there are a number of issues that have to be resolved.

He says a wholesale change in the employers’ approach will be required to prevent a withdrawal of services.

Their collective agreements with the Rainbow District School Board expired last August.

Clyke says their patience is wearing thin because the employer refuses to address their concerns in any meaningful way.
