Greater Sudbury Police are investigating a stabbing that sent a 37-year old male to hospital.

Police say the incident happened around 8:30 this morning, possibly in the area of Regent Street and Elm Street.

The 37-year old is in serious but stable condition.

Greater Sudbury police responded to a pair of downtown violent robberies on Wednesday.

The first occurred at the corner of Notre Dame and Lloyd street around 12:30 when a man was struck with a baton by two other males who demanded money from him.

Both suspects were arrested and charged last night.

Another man was assaulted on Kathleen street around 8 last night by a person he knew.

The altercation resulted in the victim being choked and robbed before the suspect fled.

Later in the evening, the accused turned himself into uniform police officers and was in court this morning facing a charge of robbery.
