Health Sciences North’s Lead for Physician Recruitment is the best in the country.

Ginette Vezina recently won a national leadership award from the Canadian Association of Staff Physician Recruiters.

She gives credit to the city, the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine for helping bring new docs here.

but says HSN now offers an academic mandate, so new recruits can include teaching and research in their practice.

She says the entire team works hard to show potential doctors what HSN and the Sudbury community has to offer.

Since Vezina began working as a physician recruiter in 2000, 214 new docs have set up practice in Sudbury

The national award is for recruiters who demonstrate a high commitment and passion in their work to attract, recruit and retain new physicians to respective communities.
