Eye See Eye Learn

According to Dr. Enio Pidutti with Sudbury Optometrists, many children are getting eye exams too late in life, and he hopes a new program coming to Northern Ontario will change that.

The Eye See…Eye Learn program, is a not-for-profit program put on by the Ontario Association of Optometrists and it aims at detecting, diagnosing and treating children with vision problems.

Pidutti says a childs eyes should be checked when they turn 3-years old and he is excited about helping children learn.

On average 10 percent of children who get their first eye exam will need glasses.

The program will be available in Sudbury on July 1st and children in Junior Kindergarten can get the OHIP insured eye exams, and if prescribed they receive a free pair of glasses.
