Crews Called To Structure Fire On Regent At Lorne Street

Four stations from Greater Sudbury Fire Services responded to a fire on Regent Street at Lorne, just before 7am Tuesday.

The Platoon Chief on scene says the 22 firefighters made headway to put out the flames at the structure and detached garage.

Greater Sudbury Police helped direct traffic and closed Regent Street northbound at Lorne Street.

Due to the complexity of the situation, police also blocked off Haig Street at Whittaker and Douglas Street at Regent Street.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area while fire crews were scene.

There’s no word on any injuries and cause has yet to be determined.
