The Toronto 2015 Pan Am games are more than a month away, but the excitement is building for the largest multi-sport event ever held in Canada.

Sudbury got involved today as the Pan Am Torch Relay made it’s stop in Sudbury along its 41 day, 130 community journey.

Bob Rogers was the final of 20 torchbearers, bringing the flame down to the Grace Hartman Amphitheatre and says these events are how we build the spirit of our country.

Sudburian and Olympic Gold Medallist, Tessa Bonhomme made the final pass to Bob Rogers and says she was more than honoured to be a part of the relay.

CIBC VP Sponsorship Marketing and Sudbury Native, Monique Giroux was one of the 20 torchbearers, and says the games will showcase our diversity as a country.

Senior VP Marketing Revenue for the Games, Katherine Henderson says the games will leave behind a legacy because there have been a number of new and updated facilities that will allow Ontario althetes to train.

The torch will be at Churchill Public School tomorrow before passing through Sturgeon Falls and onto North Bay

It will pass through the hands of three thousand torchbearers before arriving in Toronto for the opening of the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games on July 10th.
