Wednesday was a busy evening for Greater Sudbury Fire Services as crews were called to two separate fires.

The first, just before 9pm was at a home on Elysee Street in Hanmer.

One person suffered smoke inhalation and now is temporarily homeless.

The cause remains under investigation, but it is not suspicious and damage is around $125,000.

Then around 11:30pm firefighters were called to Vale’s Nickel refinery in Copper Cliff after an accidental fire during repair work.

Twenty employees were evacuated and no one was injured.

Damage is pegged around $50,000.
