Rally for Dad

A couple of hundred bikers took to the streets in an effort to raise the level of prostate cancer awareness.

The 16th annual Motorcycle Rally for Dad started out this morning from the Northeast Cancer Centre, headed east along highway 17 to Noelville, before it winded it’s way back to Sudbury.

Chair of the ride Nicky McDonald says early detection is key as 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, so the push is on for men to get screened to lower those numbers.

Organizers are hoping the ride will raise $45,000 to go towards prostate cancer equipment that is being used both for diagnostics and research.
