Disappointment for Sudbury’s Ross Proudfoot who won’t be representing Canada at the upcoming Pan Am Games.

The Lively native was named to the track and field team and was to compete in the 5,000 metre running event, but other athletes filed an appeal on his eligibility.

Proudfoot had previously been named to the team for the Summer World University Championships in South Korea also taking place next month.

Athletics Canada has ruled in favour of the appeal.

Proudfoot had said if was ruled ineligible for the Pan Am Games he would compete in South Korea instead.
