The New Democrats in Sudbury have their candidate in place for the federal election.

Party members voted for Paul Loewenberg to represent them when the country goes to the polls in October.

The 45-year old festival promoter and restaurant manager beat out challenger Stephanie Harris last night at the NDP nomination meeting at the Steelworkers Hall.

Loewenberg narrowly lost the Sudbury riding in the 2011 provincial election, to then incumbent Liberal M-P-P Rick Bartolucci.

The names also on the Sudbury ballot will be: Liberal candidate Paul Lefebvre, Conservative candidate Fred Slade and Green Party candidate David Robinson.
