The city has opened a portal into municipal data which everyone can now use.

The Open Data Portal was recently launched giving residents access to municipal government data and information for use and to republish without restrictions.

Open data is considered one of the four pillars of Sudbury’s open government model, the others, open information, open dialogue and open doors.

So far 20 datasets have been uploaded to the web-page including information on council, bike and walking trails, zoning, and status of current freedom of information requests.

All can be found at opendata.greatersudbury.ca.
