Smells of Ribs, chicken, sauces, and more delicious food will fill the air in downtown Sudbury on the Labour Day weekend.

Ribfest returns for it’s 8th year with part of the proceeds going toward the Red Cross who will supply the event with 80-100 volunteers.

Executive Director of Downtown Sudbury, Maureen Luoma says it has grown from 10 thousand people their first year to 45 thousand last year because of a family atmosphere

Community Services Coordinator at the Red Cross, David St. Georges says this is a favourite event for volunteers.

The event will feature live music, family fun, a walk-in movie, car and motorcycle show and of course, ribs.

It runs from September 4th to the 6th and will feature the headlining act of Hot Rocks, Canada’s Number One Rolling Stones Tribute Show.
