One blueberry pie was not enough for this blueberry fanatic, so I packed up with 2018 Jeep Compass Sport from Mazzuca Chrysler and headed over to the Downtown Sudbury Market for the Blueberry Bash! Once I got there, I headed straight to the concession stand to grab myself fresh giant blueberry pancakes and settled in to listen to some live music. In between bites, I got to meet some pet parents and talk to them about how their pets can become a healthy Tailblazers pets. Their furry friends got to rock custom printed pet bandanas from Tailblazers and I got some puppy therapy in the process. There were so many incredible local farmers and artisans at the market today, I can’t wait to come back next week for some grocery shopping!

I have never believed that there is anything wrong with having desert before lunch, so once I got my fill of pancakes I headed over to Independent Living on Durham for Volunteer Sudbury’s awareness BBQ. The first 200 people that visited them today got free lunch, with later guests paying only $2 for a full meal. Their event today was held to raise awareness for their Valuable Volunteer Program which helps those with physical disabilities or mental health barriers become be more inclusive in the community through volunteering. The outstanding team at Volunteer Sudbury made me feel so welcome, I loved hearing about the different programs that they offer which help local businesses as well as residents. Some little ones got to work off their lunch with free play passes to KUPP indoor play center and KUPP laser tag. Now, it was time for me to get a little exercise.

Science North wanted to let little one’s experience the kinds of extreme sports shown in their Beyond Human Limits exhibit, so they set up inflatables right on their front steps! I had an absolute blast climbing through the obstacle course, but still couldn’t manage to win a race against my little competitors.  After catching my breath, I got to hand out some gift cards to Dairy Queen and Toppers Pizza to a few lucky athletes. You have until tomorrow to try out these giant inflatables for free with the cost of general admission. If you miss this round though no worries, Science North will be bringing out a different set of inflatables from August 13th till the 19th.

On Sunday, Chelsea joined my weekend adventure! We had an early start in order to make it on time for the Ionic Mountain Bike Tour at the Naughton Trail Centre! We loved seeing the amount of people who came out to support such a worthy cause. The proceeds from Sunday’s event will go towards the Northern Cancer Foundation for the purchase of equipment for the Northeast Cancer Centre to help bladder cancer patients in their treatment. My favorite part was seeing all of the little ones take off on their Strider bikes, or as I like to call them, Flintstones bikes. Those little athletes deserved a treat after all their hard work, so before the race began we handed out some prizes from Toppers Pizza and DQ. After the races were over we took a nice little Sunday drive around town, grabbing a coffee at Kuppajoe Espresso Bar and making some new Australian friends in the process. We felt there was no better place to stroll around on a Sunday afternoon, so we headed over to Bell Park to hand out some prizes and dip our feet in the water. A few lucky beach-goers scored free play passes to KUPP indoor play center and KUPP laser tag as well as exclusive station swag! Thanks for another amazing weekend Sudbury!
