It was a busy first week back to school for Greater Sudbury Police.

The Traffic Management Unit launched it’s enforcement and awareness campaign last week regarding school bus and school zone safety.

While there were no collisions involving students, cyclists or motorists in school zones….speeding was an issue.

A total of 60 charges were laid…including a stunt driving charge against one motorist caught going 98km/h in a 40km/h school zone on Valley View Road in Val Caron.

Also, two drivers were charged for failing to stop for a school bus and eight were caught for using a hand held device while behind the wheel.
