Sudbury Police have released more information into that incident in the downtown where it’s alleged shots were fired.

Yesterday afternoon police received several calls about a man dressed in camouflage, carrying what was later identified as a shot-gun, and walking west on Elgin Street.

There were also reports that shots were heard in the area.

Police were able to surprise the man and get the weapon away from him, but the suspect pulled out a second gun and pointed it at officers.

This time they wrestled the suspect to the ground and got possession of the second gun.

When he was searched, extra ammunition for both firearms was found.

The 21-year old suspect is facing 14 weapons related charges.

Police aren’t saying if they know what the suspect was planning to do with the weapons.
