Health Unit

If it weren’t for public health inspectors we’d never know if our favourite restaurant was in compliance with safety regulations.

However this week, during Environmental Public Health Week, the Sudbury & District Health Unit is trying to educate the community on the other duties these professionals do regularly.

Along with restaurants, they also inspect tattoo parlours, hair salons, spas, day cares, public pools and long term care homes.

Public Health Inspector, Laura Bulfon says there are 22 health inspectors who each cover a certain geographical area in Sudbury and district.

The latest inspection reports for most of sites they check over regularly are listed on the health unit’s website.
