A group from Greater Sudbury Police Services joined fellow police officers from across the province in Ottawa Sunday for a special ceremony to honour fallen combrades.

Thousands of police officers, firefighters, correctional officers and civilians took to Parliament Hill for the annual National Peace Officers Memorial.

In the three days prioer to to the national service, over 200 officers from across Ontario ran a 460-kilometre relay between Toronto and Ottawa.

Ten officers from Sudbury Police, including Police Chief Paul Pederson were part of that run.
