The 140-character limit is arguably THE original Twitter trademark but the social media platform is looking to allow longer tweets with more characters. The changes don’t stop there: Facebook users will soon be able to post a 7 second “profile video” instead of just a picture. Also, a new app called “Peeple” is rolling out in November and you better prepare yourself to be judged. Similar to “Yelp” – which allows people to review restaurants, movies, hotels, etc – “Peeple” will allow anyone to rate human beings based on 3 categories: professionally, personally, romantically. So whether it’s your ex, co-worker or neighbour, you can review them & give a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 star rating. Here’s the crazy part: you can’t opt out or delete a bad review — once someone puts your name in the system, it’s there unless you violate the site’s terms of service. “Peeple” co-founder Julia Cordray insists that anonymous posters won’t be allowed and that anti-bullying guidelines apply to her site.
