Fire Prevention Week - Hear the Beep Where You Sleep

This is Fire Prevention Week here in Sudbury and across Canada.

The theme this year is “Hear the beep where you sleep”.

Senior Public Safety Officer Leo Frappier says working smoke detectors are a life saver with roughly half of home fire deaths happening between 11pm and 7am, when most people were asleep.

Fire Services officials are also stressing the need to practice a home fire escape plan.
