Road work is expected to re-start this morning on Elgin Street between Elm Street and St Anne Road, downtown, almost one week after a pedestrian was killed by a construction grader.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour had issued stop-work orders to the contractor, Interpaving, until requirements were met.

Those included fencing and traffic controls for pedestrian safety, as well as signallers for all machine operators.

The city says all order requirements have been met and work was to resume at 7am.

Police will also be on scene to help with traffic control.

It was last Wednesday afternoon when a 58-year old woman using a walker was struck and killed by a contruction grader.

Both the MOL and police are continuing their respective investigations.
