MealsOnWheels

A local meal service provider was celebrating its volunteers and clients last week.

It was Meals on Wheels Week across the province and the Sudbury unit marked the occasion with a number of activities.

Manager of Operations, Ashley Paajanen says it was also an opportunity to tell people about what exactly Meals on Wheels does.

The Sudbury Meals on Wheels delivers 35,000 meals a year to its clients who are seniors, those recovering from illnesses or surgery and even new moms.

Paajanen says volunteers are vital to what they do every day and they’re always looking for more.

She says volunteers can help out as little as once a month or as much as three times a week.

Volunteers can be any age, as long as they have a valid drivers’ license if they want to deliver meals to clients.
