Ontario will move into step three of re-opening this week.

Originally the province had said that Ontario would wait until the planned July 21st date to head to the third step but on Friday they moved up the timeline by a week.

So starting this Friday gyms will be open along with casinos movie theatres indoor concert and sporting venues.

Indoor dining will open up with no limit on how many people can be at one table…although face coverings will still have to be worn.

Outdoor gatherings are increased to 100 people and indoor gatherings are at 25.

For this step, face coverings in indoor public settings and physical distancing are still required.

Ontario moved to Step 2 on June 30 and was supposed to be at that stage for at least 21 days.

The province has already met its key vaccination targets for the move – having 70 to 80 per cent of adults with one dose and 25 per cent of adults being fully vaccinated.

As of July 8, over 77 per cent of people in Ontario ages 12 and up have received their first dose and more than 50 per cent have received their second dose.
