If you saw a guy hanging off his roof for dear life with a tipped over ladder would you call 911?

That’s exactly what happened in Texas after a family decorated their house with a Clark Griswold-themed Christmas dummy hanging from the roof.

One passerby actually tried to help the Clark Griswold dummy by bringing the ladder closer.

“Oh mister, please hold on. Can you reach it?”, he can be heard yelling at the dummy. When it didn’t respond, he called 911.

He tells Global News:

“I was trying to get him down any way I can. Except when I started talking to him, he never said nothing! Then I thought, ‘Oh my God I hope he’s not dead, lemme call 911.”

Check out the hilarious video below.

Since this happened, the family has decided to put a sign at the bottom of the display, warning people that it’s just a decoration and not to call 911.

Homeowner Chris Heerlein says he spent hours looking in thrift stores for clothes that were similar to the ones Griswold wore in the movie.
