It was supposed to just be a miniseries, but now, fans of Big Little Lies are anxiously awaiting a second season of their favourite HBO show.

Guess who’s joining Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman in season 2? Meryl Streep!

The Oscar and Emmy-winning actress will play Mary Louise Wright–the mother to Alexander Skarsgard’s abusive (and now deceased) character Perry Wright.

Mary Louise arrives in Monterey with concern for the well-being of her grandchildren, as well as looking for answers following her son’s sudden death.

According to Variety’s sources, Meryl Streep will make $800,000 per episode.

The riveting show is based on the Liane Moriarty novel, “Big Little Lies”.
