The Centre for Research in Occupational Safety and Health(CROSH) at Laurentian University had three research projects approved thanks to a 310 thousand dollar investment from the province.

The projects will deal occupational health and safety around mobile equipment, heavy equipment and will advance Indigenous occupational health and safety in the north.

CROSH Research Chair Tammy Eger says these types of investments keep the momentum going and help draw students to the school.

Associate professor, Darrel Manitowabi says the Indigenous communities research project will last for a year.

One of the other projects will use virtual reality to improve line of sight and awareness for workers who move around heavy equipment.
