Garson mine worker explains what made your house shake this morning. A spokesperson for Vale has confirmed a seismic event occurred at Garson Mine at approximately 3:50 am this morning on the 4,800 foot level. In consultation with the Geological Society of Canada in Ottawa, the magnitude of the seismic event was determined to be 3.1 Magnitude. Employees were immediately accounted for and there were no injuries associated with this event. Once the affected area is deemed safe, we will assess for any damage to the mine or equipment as a result of the seismic event.
