If you’re an average homeowner in the City of Greater Sudbury…your taxes will be going up by $ 87 next year. You’ll also have to pay more for your water /wastewater bill after city councilors approved the 2018 budget last night. The 3 per cent tax increase was agreed to after consultations on the process that began last spring and the water rates will go up by 7.7 per cent.

Included in the $ 564 million dollar plan, is a debt-financing plan for the new arena / event centre on the Kingsway while the capital budget of $ 263 million will continue the improvements to Lorne street and four lane Municipal road 35.
