A woman from Webbwood has been fined two thousand dollar for careless discharge of a firearm after a man was shot in the leg.

A police and MNRF investigation determined Joanne Scarrow was a passenger in a side-by-side ATV when she noticed small game and loaded her shotgun in the vehicle.

While she was getting out the firearm went off and shot the driver in the leg, below the knee.

The driver was treated in hospital and Scarrow has received a two year hunting ban, must complete a education course before getting another hunting license and had her gun permanently forfeited to the Crown.
