SingeKesha Rose Sebert has been through so much in her 30-years from the time she signed with producer Dr. Luke‘s label Kemosabe Records to her breakthrough in 2009 after appearing on American rapper Flo Rida‘s number-one single “Right Round.”  Her music and image propelled her to immediate success, with her debut album Animal premiering at the top of the charts in several countries and included 3 number-one singles, “Tik Tok” and “We R Who We R” as a solo artist, and “Timber” as a featured artist.

In January 2014, Kesha checked into rehab and after she left chose to use her birth name in favor of her previous moniker, using a normal “s” instead of the symbol “$”. During an August 2014 Teen Vogue cover interview, Kesha revealed she had recorded 14 new songs while in rehab then in October 2014, Kesha sued producer Dr. Luke for alleged sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, gender violence, emotional abuse, and violation of California business practices which had occurred over 10 years working together.

Her song “Praying” is about her recovery from that horrible time in her life.
