One of the most famous hiking trails in Northern Ontario is closed to the public.

The entrance to the Cup and Saucer Trail on Manitoulin Island has been barricaded.

The Town of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands and their mayor were made aware of the barricade put up by Don Eadie Construction, who own a portion of the land the trail is located on.

Both the municipality and mayor have been made aware of the situation and hope a resolution can come soon, but for the time being the trail is closed to the public.

The Cup and Saucer Trail features a 12 km trail, a 2 km adventure trail and breathtaking views from the 70 metre high cliffs.
