Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas says an 84-year old Sudbury woman spent 20 days in a TV room and one night in a shower room during a recent stay in the hospital.

Gelinas told the Ontario legislature Olive Bird’s story is one of many because of wait times and overcrowding in the province.

Minister of Health Erik Hoskins says the province is committed to making a change with a recent 3%  increase to hospital funding.

Hoskins says the increase there to attempt to stop these stories from happening.

President of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions, Michael Hurley is also calling on the province to increase that number to 5 %.
