Sudbury Police Chief Paul Pedersen says people in Sudbury and Northern Ontario do something better than most places, that’s get to know somebody.

At a luncheon today Pedersen spoke about inclusion and knowing the person beyond clothing, beyond skin colour.

Pedersen says racism is a problem in every part of the world but it’s up to communities to work together to stop it.

He says thinking racism doesn’t exist is ignoring the problem.

Today is the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
