Greater Sudbury Police have arrested and charged a second person in connection with the murder of 59-year old Kenneth Edwards on the weekend.

The victims identity has been confirmed and now a post mortem is being conducted to determine the cause of death.

29 -year old Patrick Sweeney of Greater Sudbury was picked up yesterday around 5 pm and charged with first degree murder, arson and five other charges in connection with the murder.

On Sunday, officers arrested and charged 29-year old Darcy Shepard with murder and four other charges.

Officers are remaining at the scene of the crime as the investigation continues.

Greater Sudbury Police have arrested a 29-year old male from Sudbury and charged him with first degree murder after a fatal fire on Bancroft Drive over the weekend.

Police say they have reason to believe 59-year old Kenneth Edwards was the victim, although his identity has not been confirmed.

Officers remain at the scene on Bancroft.

The 29-year old has also been charged with indignity to a dead body, arson, theft and failure to comply with a probation order.

Greater Sudbury Police are treating an investigation into a fatal fire on Bancroft Drive as a homicide.

Around 9:20 am on Saturday morning officers responded to a fire in a detached shed at a residence on Bancroft and confirmed a short time later there was a deceased person at the address.

The identity and cause of death of the individual is unknown at this time but will be once an autopsy is conducted.

Officers are attempting to locate and speak with 59-year old Kenneth Edwards of Greater Sudbury, who is known to frequent downtown and uses a blue bicycle as his primary mode of transportation.

Police say there are concerns for his safety and emotional well-being.
