Built on stilts…the home to Sudbury’s permanent PET scanner will have a very unique look.

Health Sciences North released architectural drawings of its future Positron Emission Tomography(PET) suite which will be built on stilts at the Nuclear Imaging Department, located on Level 2 of HSN’s South Tower.

In November the provincial government announced funding for the suite and the Northern Cancer Foundation announced the money has been raised to purchase the equipment.

Construction of the PET scanner suite and installation of the machine is expected to be complete within 18 months.
