For the second straight month the unemployment rate went up in Sudbury.

According to Stats Can, the local jobless rate was 7.5 per cent in November, up from 7.4 in October.

That puts Sudbury in a tie for sixth with Saskatoon for highest unemployment rates among major cities in Canada.

Nationally the unemployment rate fell to 6.8 per cent from 7 per cent the month before despite the loss of almost nine thousand full time jobs across the country.
