The credits have rolled on the 28th edition of Cinefest Sudbury International Film Festival.

Early numbers show attendance for gala films were right on par with last year until a final push where the Sunday gala sold out six theatres pushed them over numbers from 2015.

Festival Director Tammy Frick says she received a lot of positive comments but ones that stood out were those on customer service and accessibility.

Frick recalls leaving a late show and running into a lady who was waiting for her husband.

She told Frick that this was their third year attending having come up from Traverse City, Michigan.

They heard about the festival through friends from Australia, who had attended years back while in town for a mining convention.

The near 80 films for this year are over and now begins the planning for the next two years as Cinefest heads into into 30th year in 2018.
