Almost 20 Sudbury drivers were charged with speeding along the same road that was closed due to a fatal collision hours before.

On Monday shortly after Municipal Road 80 was re-opened following a three car collision that claimed the life of a Sudbury man, Greater Sudbury Police set up an enforcement blitz to curb speeding.

19 drivers were handed speeding tickets with one driver going 123 km/h in the 80 km/h zone.

Another driver was stopped for speeding and police laid additional charges after it was found the G1 driver had no qualified driver present and also had a requirement for an ignition interlock system.
