The union bargaining team for frontline correctional services workers has reached an agreement to settle all outstanding issues in contract talks with the provincial government.

The members of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, including jail guards and probation officers with OPSEU Local 617 here in Sudbury, were ready to go on strike as of 12:01 am Sunday.

The two sides resumed contract talks yesterday.

The workers have been without a contract since December 31st, 2014.
