A high profile court case will be back before a Sudbury judge.

The Gerry Lougheed Junior case is scheduled for this morning, after his lawyer asked for a new date back in December.

The Sudbury businessman is charged with Counselling an offence not committed and unlawfully influencing or negotiating appointments.

Former Liberal candidate, Andrew Olivier, came forward a year ago alleging he was offered a job or appointment with the political party if he stepped away from the candidacy leading up to the February by-election.

Audio recordings were released of the conversation between Lougheed and Olivier, stating the Premier had a preferred candidate in mind for the Liberals.

That preferred Liberal candidate, former New Democrat M-P Glenn Thibeault eventually went on to win the by-election.
